Fundamental to the design of CompEraser's on-line services is our commitment to protecting at all times the privacy and security of your company's claim information. Being an internet-based system, the threat to your Privacy comes from the following sources, all of which are addressed in detail below:

  • Security of the CompEraser itself from intrusion by unauthorized individuals
  • Release of confidential and private employee information to users within your company
  • Release of confidential and private employee information to authorized third party users
  • Release of confidential and private employee information to the staff at CompEraser
  • The sale or distribution in any for of any data provided by you by CompEraser
  • The sale or distribution of email addresses or other address information

Security

CompEraser utilizes Secure Socket Layer technology to protect all data. Only authorized users are allowed access to the Member-Only website through the use of a Company Code, User ID and Password. Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is a protocol for encrypting and decrypting data across a secure connection from a client to a server with SSL capabilities. The server is responsible for sending the client a certificate and a public key for encryption. If the client trusts the server's certificate, an SSL connection can be established. All data passing from one side to the other will be encrypted. Only the client and the server will be able to decrypt the data.

A secure page is indicated with a yellow lock symbol at the bottom-right side of each window. Also, you can right mouse click on a page and select 'Properties' and select the Certificates button to verify that SSL encryption is being used.

Protection Of Confidential And Private Employee Information - Users Within Your Company

CompEraser has been designed so that the medical information of each injured employee kept strictly confidential. The System Administrator for each employer totally controls the access privileges by all authorized users. You will be provided a unique Company Code, User ID and Password that allows only individuals you specify to see complete claim details. You also can permit either partial of full view of the worker injury information. In the partial view the name, social security number, address and other information that would identify the injured employee are hidden from view. You maintain total control over the access to your claim data at all times.

Protection Of Confidential And Private Employee Information - Authorized Third Parties

At your discretion CompEraser also allows for your third party administrator or Consultant to have access to reports and other financial data that will be useful in providing cost reduction advice and service. To maintain the privacy of your information and to guarantee your control over the data, your Consultant must obtain your permission in writing. CompEraser has built into its administrative function a formal request procedure. Your Consultant must request your permission, and obtain approval, before they can access your information. You can refuse access privileges at any time. You also can limit their access to "View Only" or permission to up-date specified areas of your records. Again, privacy of employee injury information is protected.

Protection Of Confidential And Private Employee Information - CompEraser Staff

The risk management staff at CompEraser will function in a manner identical to that of an authorized Third Party Consultant. While CompEraser needs to access your data in order to assist you, we will only do so with your written permission. Therefore, as part of our initial set-up procedure we will make a formal request to you to be granted full access to your data. This access will be used for support purposes only.

Sale Or Distribution Of Your Data

CompEraser will not sell, distribute, or disclose any claim information, whole or in part, to third parties for whatever reason - period.

Sale Or Distribution Of Email Addresses

CompEraser, as part of its service commitment, will provide a monthly email newsletter to specified employees of your company. This newsletter is issued by permission only. Your email address will be kept strictly confidential and will not be sold, distributed or disclosed to third parties for whatever reason. Also, you have the option to unsubscribe to this newsletter at any time.
